Dermalogica’s BioSurface™ Peel

Dermalogica’s BioSurface Peel is an intensive resurfacing treatment, dramatic results. This super charged treatment features our professional grade BioSurface™ Peel powered up with the latest technology to deliver the smooth polished skin, intensive products, no redness no downtime… just amazing skin!

How a Chemical Peel works
All chemical peels work by removing the outer layers of the skin. The depth of the peeling is determined by the chemical agent used and the concentration, among other factors. This can range from very light peeling to create faster sloughing of the stratum corneum, to deeper peeling causing cell necrosis and inflammation in the epidermis, papillary or reticular dermis.
Following a chemical peel, the deeper layers of the skin will respond by generating new skin and by increasing the production of collagen. The result is a look that’s smoother and more youthful.

Why BioSurface Peel
A refreshingly new concept in peeling. Formulated with the most progressive technology available to minimise down time while still attaining exceptional result. BioSurface Peel is a biologically active, biphasic peel that will decrease surface roughness, treat acne, reduce fine lines and fade pigmentation in the epidermis and dermal – epidermal interface. BioSurface Peel is designed to work with the skin’s chemistry, not against it. When performed by a certified skin care professional, it safely removes dull outer layers of skin and helps the skin underneath regenerate for better health and radiance.

This peel is four step treatment starting with preparing the skin to allow for efficient penetration of subsequent actives that get applied.

The next steps include the application of two complex active formulas, Enzyme Active and Acid Active. The Acid Active is what you are having the treatment for. It can be layered to a maximum of five times, depending on the condition of the skin and desired results and how your skin is reacting to it being on your skin.

The final step is the De-celerator which stops the exfoliation process, decreases the activity of the acids and normalises the epidermis. It does this while calming and initiating the process of skin repair which minimises downtime.

A comforting, Ultracalming mask will be applied for a relaxing way to finish the treatment as it’s not as relaxing as our normal Pro 30/60 treatments.

It is pretty much pain free, a little tingling on the Acid phase, but so far no one has found it anything more than that. The next few days your skin is as fresh and glowing but needs careful handling, which is why you receive an aftercare skin kit which you must use after the treatment for 3days at least then you can go back to your normal prescribed Dermalogica products. Some people get a little peeling but nothing too much, after the 3rd day you can use a gentle Dermalogica exfoliant.

What can you expect?
Your skin condition, skin concern and dedication to post-treatment care will impact the frequency and results of BioSurface Peel treatments. Clients typically notice dramatically improved skin quality, texture and tone within three treatments. Ideally, a series of three or six treatments are performed over a six- to twelve-week period, followed by maintenance treatments twice a year.
